Area Development Magazine Publishes Site Selection Factors for 2021 March 25, 2022 Report Area Development Site and Facility Planning magazine, has published the results of their 36th Annual Corporate Survey of Site Selection Factors. The article compares data from 2020 and 2021. Founded in 1965, Area Development magazine is considered the leading executive magazine covering corporate site selection and relocation issues. Editorial coverage provides valuable information pertinent to the factors, key issues, and criteria that affect a successful decision. The magazine is published quarterly and has 44,000 mailed copies. It also has a very active custom publishing group that has produced many award-winning magazines, inserts, and brochures on behalf of its clients. "When Area Development speaks, the economic development community listens," said Mark Wickersham, the executive director for Huntington County (Indiana) Economic Development Corporation. According to the Magazine, more than half of the respondents to the 36th Annual Corporate Survey are with manufacturing firms, and a fifth represent distribution/warehousing/logistics entities. Also, nearly 60% are the top C-level executives at their companies, i.e., chairman, CEO, etc., while 8% are the firms' chief financial officers. As a result, the Magazine concluded that about 60% of the survey respondents are also making their companies' final location decisions.
