August Unemployment Rate Drops

 

 The Indiana Department of Workforce Development recently released the August Unemployment Report.  The rate for Huntington County was reported at 3.9%.  This is down from 4.3% in July and 6.7% in January of this year.

 

"The County's unemployment rate continues at the lowest levels in years," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of the Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.  "The data is essentially, statistically unchanged since April of 2015 when the rate was reported at 4.1%.  It's been a long time since we've experience five consecutive months at such low levels," he concluded.
