August Unemployment Rate Drops

 

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development, in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, has released the August Unemployment Report.  The rate reported for Huntington County stands at 3.0%, down from 3.4% the previous month and 4.4% in January.

 

"The local job market continues strong.  The job posting site, indeed.com, lists 210 immediate openings within 10 miles of downtown Huntington," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.  "The report is a very encouraging statement about our local employers and our economic development team," he concluded.
