December unemployment rises slightly

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released its unemployment report for December 2012. According to their figures, the unemployment rate for Huntington County ended the year at 8.2%, up slightly from the 7.6% rate of November. The rate is the same as the statewide average for the State of Indiana. 

Huntington County's rate is the 38th lowest rate among Indiana's 92 counties. Vermillion County at 12.1% is the highest rate, while Dubois County at 5.9% is the lowest.
