February Unemployment Slightly Lower

 

The Indiana Department of Workforce Development in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the unemployment report for the period covering January 11, 2019 through February 10, 2019.  The rate reported for Huntington County was 4.2%.

 

The statistics for the County reflect an increase in the over all labor force of 134 while 161 more workers were employed compared to the previous month.  Also, 27 fewer people were counted in the ranks of the unemployed during the same period.  No plant closures nor major lay-off announcements were made from Huntington County employers.

 

The job posting website Indeed.com reported 282 job openings within 15 miles of downtown Huntington, with salary ranges reaching upward of $120,000 per year.
