The company announced the project would retain 64 existing positions while creating 3 new positions. The Huntington City Council unanimously approved a ten-year tax abatement for the company at their meeting on January 13. Gerdau's Huntington facility heat treats steel bars and tubes utilizing quench and temper and other technologies for use in the automotive, petroleum, and fire arms industries.
