HU Foundation Breakfast focuses on economic development

 

The Huntington University Foundation Breakfast Series for October focused on economic development, and approximately 100 guests attended.

 

Presenters included Mike Pogorelc, plant manager, Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems; John Sampson, president & CEO, Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership; and Mark Wickersham, executive director, Huntington County Economic Development.

 

The Huntington University Foundation exists to sponsor scholarships for Huntington County students who attend Huntington University. The breakfast events provide excellent opportunities for guests to enjoy a variety of speakers and to network with university officials and students.

 

Wickersham opened the discussion by sharing the details of the agency structure, mission and accomplishments of Huntington County Economic Development. Pogorelc presented information about the people, products and growth of Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems while John Sampson outlined the regional context for the economic development mission and the goals, challenges and success stories of the process.
