Orthopedic Device Manufacturer to Expand in Huntington
Incipio Devices, LLC, of Huntington, Indiana, announced today their plan to invest nearly $7.1 million, to expand the manufacturing and research and development capabilities of their Huntington plant, creating approximately 22 new jobs before the end of 2020 while retaining 27 existing positions. Company President, Troy Johnson, was joined by Huntington Mayor Brooks Fetters, Huntington County Commissioner Tom Wall, and Huntington County Economic Development Corporation executive director, Mark Wickersham in celebrating the announcement.
“Both the City and County have been incredibly supportive of my company. We simply would not be in Huntington without the teamwork demonstrated by them through their local economic development efforts,” said Johnson. “I’ve found Huntington to be a great place to do business and Mark and his team have been there for me anytime we’ve had a question or needed support. They genuinely want this company to succeed. It’s how economic development should be done,” Johnson added.
Incipio Devices is a world-class leader in the orthopedic industry. Based in Huntington, the company also has offices in St.-Blaise, Switzerland.
Mayor Fetters, Commissioner Wall, and director Wickersham, all praised Johnson and Incipio Devices as a great example of a local entrepreneur investing in their hometown. “The Johnson family has been a fixture of leadership in the Huntington business community for years,” said Wickersham.
“Troy graduated from Huntington North High School, and we’re very proud of him and thank him for continuing to grow his company in Huntington,” said Commissioner Tom Wall. “The City and County have partnered to help this company develop. It’s an honor to work together with the Commissioners to help make something like this continue to be successful,” Mayor Fetters added.
County Commissioner Larry Buzzard applauded everyone involved. "This is exactly what we have in mind when we talk about the results we hope to see from local economic development efforts."
