Commissioners Approve 2025 Contract with Huntington County Economic Development Corporation December 4, 2024 Report The Huntington County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a fee for service contract with the Huntington County Economic Development Corporation (HCEDC) at the regular meeting of the Commissioners on December 2, 2024. Mark Wickersham, executive director of HCEDC, reported the 2025 contract terms provide the same scope of services and price as the 2024 contract. HCEDC is not a unit of government. The entity is a private sector business organized as a non-profit per IRS Code Section 501 c 3. The agency is governed by a 17 member board of directors which includes a County Commissioner and a County Councilman to represent the County's interests in the fee for service contract. Commissioner President Tom Wall asked Wickersham for a report of project "wins" and the estimated total of private capital investments facilitated by HCEDC. Wickersham reported the agency had facilitated 10 projects year to date in 2024 representing over $41 million in private investments. Commissioner Wall also asked about the comprehensive "tally" during Wickersham's tenure as the agency's executive director. Wickersham said the agency has facilitated 187 projects representing over $860 million of private investments during his employment at HCEDC.The Commissioners thanked and congratulated him and unanimously approved the 2025 agreement.
