Huntington County Participates in Vision 2020

Nearly fifty Huntington County business and education leaders participated in the Vision 2020 Project as sponsored by the Northeast Indiana Foundation in cooperation with the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, Steel Dynamics Corporation and Parkview Health Systems.

 

The March 9 focus group environment at Huntington University afforded participants an opportunity to discuss ideas for how a "regional brand" and coordinated economic development efforts might benefit Huntington County residents.  Focus group breakout topics included 21st Century Workforce Development, Entrepreneurial Development, the Competitive Business Environment, Infrastructure Development and Quality of Life Opportunities.

 

Mark Wickersham of Huntington County Economic Development and Tracey Shafer, Superintendent of the Huntington County Community School Corporation assisted with the planning of the event on behalf of Vision 2020.  Ten northeast Indiana Counties conducted similar sessions during early March and will culminate in a Northeast Indiana Regional Economic Summit in the early summer.
