June Unemployment Rate at 4.1% July 22, 2024 Report The Indiana Department of Workforce Development in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, has released the unemployment report for June. The report covers the period from May 11 through June 10. The rate for workers living in Huntington County is 4.1%, up from 3.6% in May. The Huntington County rate, while up from the previous month, remains below the Statewide rate of 4.6%. Rates within the State range from a high of 6.2% in Fayette County, to a low of 3.4% in Gibson County. The data for Huntington County reflects a slight increase of the number of people in the workforce while also reflecting an increase in the number of unemployed workers. According to job posting site, Indeed.com, over 200 job openings are immediately available within 10 miles of downtown Huntington while over 2,000 jobs are available within a 25 mile radius of downtown Huntington.
