Onward Mfg Featured on WPTA-21Alive TV

 Onward Manufacturing Company's Huntington facility was recently featured as part of a series of stories called "Your Story Made Here."  The features are produced by WPTV-21Alive, the ABC affiliate in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  21-Alive's News Anchor, Melissa Long, visited the Huntington facility for a plant tour and interview with company executives, Ted Witzel, CEO, and his brother, Terry Witzel, President.

 

21-Alive initiated the series, "Your Story Made Here" in collaboration with the NE Indiana Regional Partnership and other area economic development groups. "The Region offers endless career opportunities and our workforce makes excellent products the world uses everyday," said Mark Wickersham, executive director of Huntington County Economic Development Corporation.  "Thanks to our friends at WPTA for their enthusiastic interest in promoting the wonderful stories about our Region," he added.

 

Onward Manufacturing Company, based in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, has been in business since 1906 and acquired a 400,000 square foot building in Huntington in 2009, where they manufacture gas bbq grills under the brand labels Broil King and Huntington.  

 

"Our Community is very proud of the team at Onward Manufacturing.  Their products are sold around the world and are among the finest grills produced.  They are great corporate citizens, contributing to various local charities and their employees are very active with Community events.  I'm proud to cook on one of their grills at my home.  It makes grilling a genuine pleasure," Wickersham concluded.
