August Employment Picture Improves
The Indiana Department of Workforce Development has released the unemployment report covering the period July 11- August 10, 2012.
According to their report, the unemployment rate for Huntington County stands at 7.9%, just slightly below the statewide rate of 8.0%.
The rate for Huntington County has improved from 9.4% one year ago and is down from 8.2% in July.
“The data continues to be encouraging,” said Mark Wickersham, executive director of Huntington County Economic Development.
“The job creation activity among both Huntington County and regional employers continues to be among the strongest in the State of Indiana."
